QLD Poker Machine tender #42 (Pubs) - Tender Released

Pub Authorities – Tender #42

The Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation has late this morning released the result of Tender #42:

• $ 161,293 South East (down from $169,597 or 4.9%)
• $ Nil Coastal ($57,489 in tender 41) – NO AUTHORITIES FOR SALE
• $ 25,000 Western (down from $28,726 or 13%)

Reduced supply in the South East, compared to record supply in tender 41, has steadied the prior fall with prices remaining relatively stable with all authorities clearing the pool. The Coastal region had no supply therefore no result this tender. The Western region appears to have only one buyer of 3 authorities out of a pool of 27 continuing the oversupply in the region since March 2017.

Market watchers will be interested to see the October announcement by the Palaszczuk Qld Government on the potential buyback of 2,600 machines for the proposed new Casino’s and what effect this may or may not have on pricing in both Pub and Club environments.
